Meet the family
Meet Eric
Taking a break from the traditional 9-5 and my career, is scary but exciting. I know it might seem “crazy” but I know new opportunities are waiting for me and my family, we just have to take the leap to find them. Being able to experience the world with my kids and create memories that will last forever is worth the “risk.” I am 39 years old, and it might seem like a “midlife crisis,” but it’s actually a midlife awakening. Who says we even have 80 years to live, we might only have today, so let’s make it count. There are always reasons to say no; you just need one to say yes.
I grew up in Southern California, did my undergraduate degree in Colorado, and have lived in Utah for the last 16 years. I love the ocean. I love adventure, fitness, new experiences, food, reading, etc., etc., etc. You’ll probably find us gravitating towards the water on our travels and exploring as much under the surface as above. I am currently PADI rescue diver certified and working towards dive master.
Meet Megan
Hey everyone! I’m Megan. Even though I come from a tiny town in Utah with only one stop light (Eric says you need a passport to visit), I love traveling and seeing the world! I’ve spent the last 14 years raising our children, remodeling our first home, and starting a few businesses in my spare time. Traveling the world full-time has been our dream, but like everything, you can always find a reason not to do something. Something that Eric and I have experienced firsthand with the loss of family members is that you never know when you’re going to leave this world, so you need to stop living scared and live your dreams. I am excited about a new chapter in our lives and to grow closer as a family.
I enjoy the outdoors, learning new things like coding, and spending time with family. I love good food, gelato, and swimming with sea turtles! The next year will be filled with challenges, but every year is, and I’m excited to see the adventures we will have.
Meet Brooke
Hey, my name’s Brooke! I’m the oldest kid in the family, at 14. I like to read, write, listen to music, and be active. I love to be by the ocean and see all the creatures and coral. I really want to see a whale shark on this trip! I enjoy going to new places, meeting new people, and trying new things. I tend to get overwhelmed when things get loud, so that’s something I want to work on this year.
This trip is going to be an amazing experience, but I know there are going to be hard times. I think we can deal with them as they come. I am going to miss my dog and my extended family, which is most likely going to be the hardest part of the trip, but it’ll be okay.
Meet Sean
Hey, I’m Sean. Sometimes I go by “buddy” or “Seaners.” I am 12 years old, and I love to play sports, especially ultimate frisbee and American Football. I like to read, play video games and board games, and cook! I am excited to eat all kinds of delicious new foods! I am looking forward to exploring the world with my family and going on new adventures. While I will miss my friends, I know I will make new ones and grow closer with my brother and sister.
I am currently PADI open water certified and look forward to getting as many dives under my belt as possible!
Meet Collin
Hi! I’m Collin, but my family usually calls me “Tiny” or “Tiny Bug” because I can eat sooo much but am skinny. I am 10 years old, and I LOVE sushi, hot chocolate, and hot cereal. I am fascinated by animals, but I love reptiles, especially snakes and crocs. I am a gamer, probably too much, but I also love reading and listening to audiobooks.
I am a little afraid of heights and sometimes get motion sickness, but I am slowly doing challenging things to overcome my fears and am excited to travel on planes, boats, and trains. I like snorkeling and playing in any type of water and am often told I swim like a frog.
